A typical Touchwood project runs from design consultation through site measure, fabrication and installation. Lead times depend on scope, materials and our current workshop schedule. Whole-home projects take longer than a single piece. We confirm an indicative timeline at the consultation and a firm schedule once the design is signed off.
Engage us early, ideally during the design stage of your renovation or build, so we can advise on feasibility and coordinate with your architect and builder before construction begins. Booking ahead also secures a place in our workshop schedule, which fills in advance during busy periods.
We build from premium substrates, natural timber veneers and solid timber, finished in your choice of two-pack polyurethane, timber finishes or specialty textures. We specify quality European hardware for smooth, lasting action. At the consultation we recommend materials suited to your design, use and budget.
Yes. Because every project is made to measure, we can colour-match to a sample, source a specific timber species, or replicate a finish from your reference. We advise on how each option wears over time so your selection suits daily use, not just first impressions.
Yes. We regularly collaborate with architects and interior designers, working from technical drawings, attending site meetings, and coordinating tolerances and timelines as part of the design team. We can join a project at the design stage or take documented drawings to fabrication.
Yes. We read and build from architectural and joinery drawings, flagging any buildability or tolerance considerations early. Where helpful, we develop shop drawings from your architect's design intent for sign-off before fabrication, so the finished joinery matches the documented design precisely.
We service homes across Melbourne, with a focus on the inner-eastern and bayside suburbs, including Toorak, Brighton, Armadale, Kew, South Yarra and Malvern. For projects outside our usual area, contact us to discuss, we assess these individually based on scope and access. See our location pages for suburb-specific information.
We primarily work across metropolitan Melbourne. Regional or interstate projects are considered case by case, depending on scale, access and timeline. If you're outside our usual area and planning a substantial project, get in touch and we'll let you know whether we can help.
Our process runs in clear stages: an initial consultation to understand your project, a site measure, design development and quoting, fabrication in our workshop, and professional installation. We keep you informed at each stage and coordinate with your other trades throughout.
Yes. After a design consultation and site measure, you receive an itemised written quote covering materials, hardware, finishes, fabrication and installation. The quote defines the scope clearly so there are no surprises, and it holds for the agreed work.
Yes. Our cabinetry carries a workmanship warranty, and the hardware we specify carries its own manufacturer warranties. We provide the terms in writing with your quote. If an issue arises within the warranty period, contact us and we'll arrange to make it right.
We provide care guidance on handover, tailored to your finishes and hardware. As a rule, wipe surfaces with a soft damp cloth, avoid abrasive cleaners, and address spills promptly. Well-maintained bespoke joinery lasts for decades.
Bespoke cabinetry is quoted per project after a consultation and site measure, because materials, hardware, finishes and complexity vary widely. Our investment guide sets out indicative ranges by project type to help you budget before requesting a detailed quote. See the [investment guide](/pricing-guide).
